" I have been working for almost 3 months. There is a lot of knowledge and experience being here as an HR intern. Not only required to work but also I was treated like family here."

What do you do at your job?

Payfazz is a financial-technology startup focused on solving that problem by finding innovative ways to give more Indonesians access to financial services for the market in rural areas. As an HR Intern, I am responsible for managing end-to-end intern recruitment, contacting and scheduling candidate’s interviews, creating internal bonding for all interns, and also branding Payfazz with making content writing on @lifeatfazz. Besides, for making all interns more comfortable to work here, I’m in charge of inviting them into ‘One on One’ sessions so that they can tell me everything about their conditions as an intern.

What's your background?

I am an undergraduate student of Engineering Physics, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya. Now, I am in the 7th semester so I am also preparing for my final project. Actually, I lived and was raised in Bekasi, but I was born in Purwokerto on November 9, 2000.

I get this great opportunity from LinkedIn. I have been working for almost 3 months. There is a lot of knowledge and experience being here as an HR intern. Not only required to work but also I was treated like family here.

Could someone with a different background do your job?

Of course, yes. Me as an example. For me, everyone can do whatever they want as long as they have passion for it and they are eager to learn from what they did. The skill you must have as an HR Intern comprises communication, leadership, agility, negotiation, and strong problem-solving skills.

What's the coolest thing about your job?

For me, creating internal bonding and interviewing candidates is the coolest job because I have to be creative and determine candidates' characteristics based on their answers. The most comfortable job I did was the One on One session with interns because I am glad to hear their whole story or to solve their problem. I think this work fits me because I am happy to work with people, interact, and always excited to meet someone new and know their stories/experiences.

What is the minus of your job?

I think the biggest concern of my job is to handle division too much and it affects the recruitment all at once. I suggest that all HR interns can handle all recruitment equally so it becomes more effective and easier. Additionally, because I am a final year student, I have to focus and do counseling with my lecturer regarding my final project. It becomes more challenging to manage the time during the internship. But, my supervisor could understand me and let me prioritize my academics. Apart from it all, everything is well.

What suggestions you would like to give yourself?

Dear myself, I want you to remember these things: One, you have to be focused on yourself without seeing what other people are doing. I believe that we have our own path and time to raise and shine as long as we keep improving ourselves. The second one, everyone has the right to convey their thoughts, and so do you. Please, don’t be scared to tell someone anything, even if it's not pleasant to hear. Last but not least, do everything good without exception, because what you did will affect how people treat you and it will come back to you.
