In 1937, Joseph-Armand Bombardier designed his seven-passenger B7 snowmobile. He built snow-going vehicles, ambulances, freight transport, and mail delivery services.
In 1970, Bombardier entered the railway industry. Sixteen years later, they entered the aerospace sector with the purchase of Canadair. Bombardier also acquired some bankrupt and near-bankrupt aircraft companies, expanding its aircraft reach.
