Prosple bolsters careers directory network with 7 new partners

Prosple bucked the trend of a global business slowdown in 2020 by engaging seven new partners. These organisations became the newest additions to our partner network with a careers and/or study directory for each one.

As of the previous year’s third quarter, Prosple welcomed four academic institutions in Australia, three in New Zealand, and another one in the Philippines.

Here’s a brief roundup to introduce each of them.

GradWise

WISE Employment, an Australian not-for-profit services provider, has run a program over many years to help students with disabilities find top graduate jobs.

Prosple is now working with GradWISE to power their careers directory, which features internship and graduate jobs in more than 10 fields of study.

The program connects inclusive employers with recent graduates and students who are in their final or penultimate year of university/TAFE study.

Prosple also helps GradWISE to provide equal and realistic employment opportunities through the careers directory’s Virtual Experiences.

Some of the preeminent employers with disability graduate programs on the GradWISE directory include:

• Accenture Australia
• Ashurst
• KPMG Australia
• NAB; and
• PwC Australia

GradWISE will also host the 2021 Industry AccessAbility Week from Feb 8 to Feb 12 for the benefit of disabled graduates and students. The event aims to prepare them for job or internship applications between February and March.

The University of Canberra (UC)

UC joined the Prosple network during the third quarter of 2020 through a Virtual Experience directory.

The platform allows graduates to have an in-depth look at the typical day at work for their preferred employers. UC will co-host the Business and Consulting Super Fair on Feb 23.

The virtual career fair will happen in several time slots for participants in six states and two territories.

Virtual fairs have become more relevant because of sudden changes in global recruitment processes.

University of South Queensland (USQ)

USQ takes pride in being the top source of graduates in Australia with the best starting salary.

The Good Universities Guide has awarded the distinction for three consecutive years. Based on the 2020 rankings, USQ graduates earn a median starting salary of A$65,200.

USQ students and graduates can browse the jobs board to find relevant career and internship opportunities in more than 10 fields of study.

USQ will also co-host the Business and Consulting Super Fair.

StudyNewzealand

StudyNewzealand is the most comprehensive guide for students in New Zealand who want to learn on-campus or online.

Some of the top education institutions are:

• Auckland University of Technology
• Massey University
• Unitec Institute of Technology
• University of Auckland
• University of Canterbury; and
• University of Canterbury

Students can choose from in-person degrees, online programs, and short courses in more than 12 fields of study. The directory’s courses also offer 15 types of qualifications (e.g. associate degree, bachelor, graduate certificate).

Universal College of Learning (UCOL)​

Founded in 1902, UCOL has been known as a school of choice in New Zealand for local and international students. The 2017 International Student Barometer survey recognised UCOL because of:

• A small student-teacher ratio
• Teaching strategies
• Accommodation and living expenses

UCOL’s decades-long establishment allowed them to forge industry connections that benefit students and graduates.

As of June 2020, New Zealand had an estimated 200,000 students. More than 100,000 students relied on Prosple NewZealand to find jobs. They also have:

UCOL’s addition to the Prosple’s network ultimately means a win-win for employers and applicants.

Western Institute of Technology at Taranaki (WITT)​​

WITT is a New Zealand government-funded tertiary institute for students in the Taranaki region and elsewhere in the world. The institution joined the Prosple network to improve employment prospects for graduates and students.

By doing so, WITT continues to align its purpose based on development goals in the Taranaki 2050 Roadmap and Tapuae Roa.

UP CAPES collaborates with the University of the Philippines’ College of Engineering as a student service organisation.

The group has been active for over 25 years in different activities, such as the annual Career Events Series and the Engineering Jobfair.

Engineering graduates and students can find job and internship opportunities from top employers including:

• Meralco Industrial Engineering Services Corporation; and
• Prysmian Group

UP CAPES’ jobs board also features a directory of postgraduate courses. Those who want to pursue further studies outside the Philippines can choose between in-person and online courses from several institutions in eight countries.
